A mission becomes reality: the creation of hey mela

The world’s first vegan pregnancy test hey mela is the result of the visionary work of the biotechnology start-up Phaeosynt from Hanover. Founded with the aim of creating sustainable and animal-free alternatives for the diagnostics industry, Phaeosynt developed a groundbreaking method: the production of vegan antibodies using diatoms.

As a women-run company, Phaeosynt combines ecological, economic and social sustainability. From climate-friendly production in Germany and the protection of animals to the promotion of diversity and female empowerment – hey mela embodies these values in an emotional, true-to-life product.
