Why a vegan pregnancy test?

Pregnancy tests are based on antibodies that recognize and bind the pregnancy hormone hCG.

Classically, these antibodies are produced by immunization of animals or in animal cell cultures, using animal components such as fetal calf serum (TCS) or bovine serum albumin (BSA) – both from the blood of living animals.

We have developed an animal-free alternative: vegan production in diatoms. In this way, we save numerous animals and offer a sustainable solution. With 15 million pregnancy tests sold in Germany every year, we enable an ethical choice for an emotional product.

It is best to carry out the hey mela pregnancy test with morning urine before your period is due.

Which medications can influence the test result

“Alcohol, medications such as painkillers and antibiotics as well as the contraceptive pill should not affect the test result. Read the relevant instructions for your medication before taking the test.”
